Shara Kennel
has been in existance here in the US since 1990 and was the first to officially show Sharplaninatz dogs at the first ARBA show in Washington DC. However our involvement with this majestic breed dates back to Yugoslavia. Our goal was and still is to produce the dogs that fully live up to the reputation of these legendary guardians from Mount Shara. With this insight, we chose our dogs so we can do all we can to maintain the very essence of the breed.
Our first dog Astor Vuk od Share. , was sent to us by my father, who loved and admired this Ancient Breed . Vuk proved to be just what we needed to start our lines on right track. His temperament and conformation were just outstanding. This earn him the ARBA Championship title back in 1994. He has produced a number of great dogs that have become foundation dogs for other breeding kennels.
After Vuk came Sheba od Share. She is our puppy out of the breeding between Lady ( a Bautiful female that came to us from working sheep farm in Arizona ) and Birge ( a powerful male owned by Mr. Lazic of NY )
In 1993 we knew that in order to keep and inprove on quality we would need to bring new lines to our kennel and include them in our breeding program.This was when my father chose two puppies for us from one of the leading kennels in Yugoslavia ( od Vuka ). We knew these blood lines would complement what we had and would allow us to plan for even better dogs in the future. Those two puppies were Kimba and Tesa
Vuk, Sheba, Kimba and Tesa were our foundation on which we build today. On pages of our site you will be able to see their offspring and judge for yourself the contribution they gave to the Sharplaninatz breed.
